New Ownership December 2004
The Inn has undergone several major renovations since its purchase in
December, 2004. The latest major upgrades over the 2006 - 2008 winter have created
new room designs including the addition of many new Vermont Castings Gas
Fireplaces and a beautiful new Jacuzzi suite featuring a 120 sq. ft.
tiled bathroom with 2-person Jacuzzi underneath a 4' bay window offering amazing
views of the mountains and river valley.
These renovations have also created 3 room designs, each individually decorated
to ensure our guests the style and comfort they have come to expect from a
three-diamond Inn. Guest can choose from a standard room featuring country
pattern quilts and wallpaper to our classical rooms featuring beautiful crown
moldings and cornices with Croscill bedding and drapes to our new southwest rooms featuring Thomasville
bedding and period artwork.
The Past
The Inn was originally built as the Bishop family Homestead and Barn in 1888. Enos
Bishop renovated the building in 1927 and converted it into what is now the
Ammonoosuc Inn. Property surrounding the Inn was cleared to make way for a new
golf course along the banks of the Ammonoosuc River. The Inn entertained
clientele arriving via train at the Sugar Hill Train Station from the Boston and
New York markets
The Future
We are constantly updating and renovating every aspect of the Building, Property
and Restaurants to ensure our guests have the very best experience each and
every time they visit. We fully understand the cost and stress of traveling
these days. Our mission is to guarantee that once you arrive at the Ammonoosuc
Inn and Restaurant you’ll agree that is was all worth it.
The Renovation Process

Renovation & Restoration of our 83 year old 150'
Covered Farmers Porch has been completed - The Porch has been a favorite of
local and tourists alike, as well as the backdrop for many Brides & Grooms
throughout the years.
7/24/2010
Renovation of the new Petite Sirah room and
Bathroom has started
- this new addition will expand the number of rooms to nine in total. This room
will be available to our guest by Mid-September.
7/23/2010
Renovation of the Brunello Room and
Bathroom is complete. Gone is the
old country wall paper, bedding and drapes. This
room features Benjamin Moore low VOC paints - and has been decorated with
a Southwest feel throughout.
5/1/2010
Remodeling of Melanie's Bistro is complete - A
complete new facelift will be noticed - gone is the stiffness of all white
linens, they have been replaced by new beautiful forest green linens, new
artwork, free standing wine rack and a deep rich toned wall covering.

The renovation of the Riesling Room
and Bathroom
is complete. Gone is the country wall paper and bedding. This
room features Benjamin Moore low VOC paints as well as new classical crown
moldings. Gone are the country quilts, bedding and drapes, replaced with
Contemporary bedding, drapes and amenities. A new spring air pillow top
queen mattress positioned in front of a 15" Flat Panel LCD TV finishes off this
latest upgrade.

Grand Opening of the New Ammonosouc Lounge. Chef Melanie describes the new
Pub as "Cozy and
Romantic" - The Innkeeper calls it a place "Where friends come together". Both are right, but neither fully describes the atmosphere
of the Pub, a cross of foreign sophistication and New Hampshire relaxation.

- The renovation of the New Ammonoosuc Spa Room is complete - This New addition to the Inn was
designed with the help of Interiors Green - a local company who specialize
in Eco-Friendly designs. We used low VOC paints from Benjamin Moore, and
installed All Natural Cork Flooring –

- The renovation of The Chardonnay
Room
and Bathroom is complete. Gone is the old country wall paper, replaced by
period low voc tone paints and crown moldings. Carpeting has been replaced
by a beautiful all natural Cork Flooring. Two wing back reading chairs
positioned in front of a 15" Flat Panel LCD TV. New furniture, art
work and spring air pillow top mattress
are just a few of the upgrades.

- The Inn has just completed the renovation and transformation of a new expanded guest
living room called the Melanie's Tea Room. This
new room adjoins our Ammonoosuc Room in an effort to expand the openness and comfort
for our guests. From this room, you will enjoy a selection of the finest teas
served in China teapots and cups all while enjoying the spectacular views from
the rooms 3 oversized windows overlooking the Ammonoosuc River valley. Weather
permitting, this room is directly off of our 150' front porch - enjoy the
breathtaking views and Mountain fresh air, grab a good book or just relax and
enjoy the moment.
